This has been one of the hardest semesters I have had in awhile. I am taking 12 credits and the classes are NOT easy. Well, at least for me they aren’t easy.
I have a high B in statistics and nursing nutrition, but a C in a organic/biochemistry. Chemistry is no joke! I do not wish the material were easier, I just wish I were smarter and more efficient in studying. It will all work out though, it just has to.
There has been a lot of reading for my nursing nutrition class (NURS 299). It was around 200 pages a week for the first few weeks, but now it’s down to 50-60 pages a week. This class is supposed to mimic a common nursing class due to the amount of material covered in short periods. I’m handling it pretty well though, so I’m happy.
Statistics, specifically PSY 210, has not been that difficult. The book we are using is very user-friendly and easy to read. The assignments and quizzes are also not hard. I don’t completely suck at math, so this might be the reason why I like this class.
The hardest thing has been figuring out how to study for organic/biochemistry (CHEM 111). I
love prefer creating digital flashcards, so I don’t have to lug around flashcard sets, but I have found it easier to do handmade ones for this particular class due to the fact that I have to draw so many structures, diagrams, etc.
Nonetheless, I have a really good class and lab buddy for CHEM 111. Her name is Danielle. She’s smart and helpful and understanding that my schedule is crazy. We still make time to study together though and I’m hoping we get into the nursing program during the same semester. Pray for us please.
On another note, the UNLV men’s basketball team is playing tonight against Colorado. Don’t forget to wear your scarlet and gray to support the Rebels. I know I am!
Update: We lost in the first round! Can you believe it? It was very disappointing.
